Maintaining Positve Energy Flow

"The two states of being and doing  are a perfect example of ying and yang. One does not use much energy in the "being" state, so if a person remains in it too long, there is a build up and they will feel restless. And as the "doing" state does require energy, a person that remains in it too long, will end up feeling burnt out once resources are too low. Keeping these two states in balance, is key to maintaining a positive energy flow."

The Evil Walter Mitty

"Remember Walter Mitty? He was the fictional character in James Thurber's short story The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, who constantly daydreamed. But there is a evil version of Walter that makes up most of our personalities. When faced with a pending difficult situation, almost all of us tend to play it out in our minds before hand. Why? Because we feel that by being prepared, we can have control over the situation. Unfortunately, we have no control over any external forces and the constant "playing out in our mind" can actually create more damage than the actual situation ever will."

The Now

"If we were meant to live in the past or the future, the present would never have been created. Yesterday we were sure "it" was the now and tomorrow, we will believe that "it" is the now. There really seems to be nothing but "now." So why do we persist in not living in it?"

Why Habit

"Most of us are creatures of habit. But why? Even if an action causes us discomfort, we sometimes continue to repeat it. Perhaps we do this until a lesson is learned. Maybe that is why adversity is our greatest teacher. Instead of asking why "you" keep doing the "wrong" thing, ask what it is that you should be learning."

1 Step Program

"We have all heard of the "12 Step Program." But for most of us, the hardest program is the 1 Step Program. This is because all it involves, is starting. And that, is always the hardest part."

Fear of Embarrassment

"The fear of embarrassment is one of the strongest obstacles we will face in our lifetime. The most common result of this fear is "inaction" which blocks our creative process. We feel this fear because we are afraid to fail. But failure is part of the learning process. We are not born with success. We learn it."

True Mediation

"To be in a true meditative state, is to be in harmony with our true nature. This happens when our thoughts, our actions and out breathing are all in sync. And this can happen whether we are sitting quietly in a lotus position or whether we in a group of people at a party. As long as we are mindfulness of our existence, we are meditating."

Forced Thought Resets The Process

"Thought gives rise to the process that is responsible for the end results. If one keeps forcing the thought, the process keeps resetting and never has a chance to follow through. Trust in the process."

God Is Not A Warm Fuzzy Feeling

"The human mind is capable of creating any reality it chooses. Can one truly say they "know" God? When one experiences a feeling of warmth or contentment, this does not mean that the "spirit" has revealed itself unto them. Is our human mind even capable of experiencing, such a incredible experience as God? I am not saying "what is." Just that it's something we should think about."

Why Control Is So Important

"The need for control is a survival instinct. The more "in-control" we feel, the longer we feel we will survive. Unfortunately, most insecurities stem from this, because deep down, we know we can never truly have 100% control over life. We do however, have control over how we interpret it."

Get Familiar With The Positive

"We need to stop our love affair with the negative. The only reason we maintain this unhealthy relationship, is that we are so familiar with it. For a much more healthy existence, try becoming familiar with the positive. "

De-Attach

"If one is attached to something, they will always act from an externally motivated view. De-attach and one is forced to become internally motivated."
